privacy policy
Sproutful LLC · Effective date: june 5, 2026
this privacy policy explains how sproutful llc ("sproutful," "we," "us," or "our"), a limited liability company located at 39 mill plain rd, danbury, ct 06811-5191, united states, collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the sproutful application, website, and related services (collectively, the "service"). by using the service, you agree to the practices described in this policy. if you do not agree, please do not use the service.
sproutful is a personal wellness and self-reflection app. we aim to collect as little information as we reasonably can, and we do not sell your personal information.
information we collect
a. information you provide
- account information: when you create an account using sign in with apple, google, or another supported method, we receive basic profile details such as your name, email address, and (if available) a profile image. depending on the provider and your settings, the email you share may be a private relay address.
- your content: the journal entries you create, which may include written text, titles, moods, tags, photos, video, and audio. you may also create voice and text conversations with our ai "sprout" companions.
- wellness activity: information about the sessions you complete in the app, such as breathing exercises, focus timers, calming sounds, and other mind exercises, including their type and duration.
- preferences and settings: settings such as reminder times, notification preferences, and language.
- communications: if you contact us for support or send feedback, we receive the information you choose to share.
b. information collected automatically
- usage and diagnostic data: limited technical information needed to operate the service, such as app interactions, crash and error logs, and basic device information. we use this to keep the service working and to protect against abuse.
- security information: to protect accounts and prevent fraud or abuse, our systems keep limited security logs (for example, sign-in attempts and rate-limiting signals), which may include a hashed or shortened identifier rather than your full details.
c. subscription and purchase information
when you purchase a premium subscription, the payment itself is processed by apple, and we do not receive your full payment card details. through our subscription provider (revenuecat), we receive subscription status information such as your plan, product identifier, store, purchase and expiration dates, and transaction identifiers, so we can unlock premium features and keep your access in sync across your devices.
how we use your information
we use the information we collect to:
- provide, maintain, and improve the service and its features;
- save your journal entries, moods, and wellness activity and sync them across your devices;
- power features you request, such as ai conversations, reminders, and the wellness radar;
- manage your account, subscription, and access to premium features;
- respond to your support requests and feedback;
- keep the service secure, detect and prevent fraud or abuse, and enforce our terms;
- comply with our legal obligations.
we do not sell your personal information, and we do not use the content of your journal entries for advertising.
ai features
the service includes ai-assisted features, such as voice and text conversations with ai companions and reflective insights. to provide these features:
- your messages and, during a voice call, your spoken audio are processed by our ai and voice providers (including elevenlabs) so the companion can understand and respond to you in real time.
- a record of your sprout conversations is kept on your device so features like the wellness radar can reflect on what you talked about. when you open such a feature, a short, limited summary may be sent for analysis so the result can be generated.
- ai output may be inaccurate or incomplete and is not medical or professional advice.
we ask our ai providers to process this information only to provide the feature, and not to use your content to train their own models for unrelated purposes, to the extent their terms allow.
how we share information
we do not sell your personal information. we share information only in these limited circumstances:
- service providers: we use trusted companies to operate the service on our behalf, including supabase (cloud database, storage, and authentication), revenuecat (subscription management), elevenlabs (ai voice and conversation), and infrastructure and ai providers that help deliver app features. they may process your information only to provide services to us.
- sign-in and platform providers: apple and google handle authentication when you sign in, and apple handles purchases through the app store.
- legal and safety: we may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of sproutful, our users, or the public.
- business transfers: if sproutful is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
data storage and security
your account data and journal content are stored on secure cloud infrastructure provided by supabase, and some information (such as your on-device conversation history) is kept locally on your device. journal photos and videos are stored in a private storage area scoped to your account.
we use technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and per-account isolation so that you can access only your own data. no method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
data retention
we keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. when you delete your account, we delete your profile, journal entries, wellness activity, stored media, and related data from our systems, and your sign-in record is removed. some limited records may be retained where required for legal, security, or accounting purposes (for example, subscription transaction records and security logs), and backups may persist for a limited period before being overwritten.
your choices and rights
- access and correction: you can view and edit your journal entries and profile details within the app.
- delete your account: you can delete your account and its associated data at any time from within the app's settings, and this action is permanent.
- notifications: you can turn reminders and notifications on or off in the app or in your device settings.
- permissions: features like video journaling and voice calls require access to your camera, microphone, and photos. you can manage these permissions in your device settings, though some features may not work without them.
- subscriptions: you can manage or cancel your subscription in your apple id settings.
depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the gdpr or ccpa, including the right to access, correct, delete, or port your information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. to exercise these rights, contact us at support@sproutful.io. we will not discriminate against you for exercising them.
children's privacy
the service is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country). we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age. if you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
international users
we are based in the united states, and our service providers may process and store your information in the united states and other countries. if you use the service from outside the united states, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in countries that may have different data protection laws than your own.
third-party services
the service relies on third-party providers and may link to third-party websites or services. their use of your information is governed by their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their practices. we encourage you to review the privacy policies of apple, google, and any other services you use alongside sproutful.
changes to this policy
we may update this privacy policy from time to time. if we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. your continued use of the service after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
